First Flood

Yesterday mommy, daddy and I went downtown to check out one of the roads that was closed because of flooding. I guess there's a big river called the Minnesota River that flows through our town and when we get a lot of snow like this year, it can flood. Mommy said the good thing is that Chaska was prepared no homes or anything were lost. So we drove downtown, parked and got to walk across one of the bridges that's closed to check it out. It was a good walk and very interesting to see!!

Daddy and me walking across the bridge to check out all the water.
"WOW!!" Look at all that water!

Here's a good picture showing how high the river is. Those trees are not even supposed to be close to the water and way in the back you can see stairs that go right into the river.

We walked along one of the trails until we couldn't go any further. Daddy's trying to explain that the rest of the trail is under water.

"Um, I think I'll just look at the water from up here thank you."

Then we drove down to the baseball field in town which is the worst area right now. The entire field is under water and I guess some people said the water had gone down a lot. I don't know, that's still a lot of water!!

But just to be safe, my playgroup friends ((Avery & Gavin)) and I are preparing for the worst!!

Mommy took a quick video to show how fast the water was moving and you can kind of hear how loud it is.

Cleaning, Playing, Sleeping.....Still Here!!

I'm still here!!! It's been a busy few weeks so mommy said we needed to make a quick update just to let everyone know what we're up too. It's been so nice out lately that mommy and I have been spending a lot of time outside, which of course is perfectly fine with me!! Mommy says every time we go out, she forgets the camera, but that we'll get some pictures posted soon. I've sure had fun at the parks and of course on my swing set!! Mommy also says it's that time of year to clean and go through things. So we've been cleaning the pantry in the kitchen, going through the linen closet in mommy & daddy's bathroom, and going through some of my clothes for donation and to pack away. So we've just been plain busy and hope things will settle down soon. In fact, as you can see below, this is how mommy found me just this afternoon as she was making lunch! I just climbed into my favorite chair and off to sleep I went. But not for long. I was able to wake up & eat lunch and then I went right back to sleep and took a long nap. I'm just wore out from all this work!

The Ball Pit

Last night there was a free carnival at our community center for all the families in the area. Mommy thought it would be a good idea to go and check it out for something to do. We had dinner at home first, thinking that would pass enough time so that when we got there it wouldn't be as busy. WRONG!!! As you can see from the picture below, it was VERY busy. I didn't want to wait in the long lines and we made one lap around the carnival and that was it. So instead mommy & daddy let me go and play in the big ball pit that is there and I had so much fun!! It was really nice because we were the only ones there for a good part of it, but then some other kids came in that I got to play with. Mommy says I must have been tired from all the activity because I went right to sleep when we got home and slept until 8:00 a.m this morning! We're gonna have to go back and play there soon!

Way to many people, the ball pit was much better.

I also thought about going swimming, but I didn't have my trunks with me. Maybe next time because that slide sure looks fun!!

The ball pit!!!

Going down the slide, which I did over and over and over and over.

Happy time!

Mommy and me.

Trying to down the slide.

My action shot, jumping with all the padded blocks is so much fun!!

Basement Time

Mommy & daddy worked hard earlier this fall to turn the basement into a play area for me to use during the winter. Mommy says not only is it a place to keep some of my bigger toys, but it's a place to run off all my energy! A few days ago mommy and I spent the morning downstairs playing and of course, mommy had the camera ready to go!

Our basement isn't finished so I insist we wear daddy's hard hats while playing to be safe.

Driving my car around is a lot of fun too.

Ken & Barbie had to join the fun as well. They're heading down the honeymoon slide!

"Hm......maybe I could try a little rock climbing? It's sure harder than it looks!"

Score!!

Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up everybody do your share!!

Zoo with Auntie Chelle

Yesterday was sure a fun day. It was my Auntie Chelle's birthday and I got to spend with whole day with her and mommy at my favorite place, the zoo!!!! Auntie Chelle said she hadn't been to the zoo in a really long time so she was excited to go too. We all had fun looking at the animals and walking all around. Mommy says soon we'll go back again and I just can't wait!!

Our first stop is the monkeys, they're so funny to watch!!

But my FAVORITE part is watching all the fish. These are the dolphins or "dolphie" as I called them.

This shark is scary!!!

Checking out the kids den where you can play and touch all sorts of stuff.

I spent a lot of time checking out these shells & feathers. It was very interesting.

Off to the tropical trail. Those are Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches behind me. GROSS!!!!

Checking out the flamingos.

Pretty!!

Of course we had to stop and look at more fish.

It was warm enough for us to go on the Minnesota trail and check out the wolves, or puppies as I called them.

I love the zoo!!!!

Before we left I had to check out the store, maybe mommy will buy me these trucks??

"Um.......I don't think these binoculars work. I can't see anything!"

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

Last weekend, the same weekend I moved into my new room, my grandma and grandpa from South Dakota decided to come out and visit. They hadn't been to my house in a while so I sure had lots to show them. I had so much fun visiting with them and only wished they could have stayed longer. Mommy says we'll get to see them again, but until then, here's some of what we were up too!!

Here's papa ((mommy says every older man we see with gray hair I now call papa)) reading one of my favorite books to me.
Grandma and me playing cars, she knows how to line then up just the way I like it.

Then it's onto some kick ball with papa.

And finally, another book to read with grandma.

I miss you grandma and papa!!!
