Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!! This turned out to be a very busy day for me and I had a lot of fun! I'm very tired from all the excitement so I will just leave you with a simple poem for thought......

It's late and I am sleepy, The air is cold and still. My jack-o-lantern grins at me upon the windowsill. I'm stuffed with cake and candy and I've had a lot of fun. But now it's time to go to bed and dream of all I've done. I'll dream of ghosts and goblins and of witches that I've seen, and I'll dream of trick-or-treating on this, my first, Happy Halloween.
Here I am in my Halloween shirt mommy got for me. Every time I move the ghost on my shirt lights up!

Smiley boy!

The Great Pumpkin getting ready to trick or treat.

Happy Halloween!!!

"Hey you! Are you going to come and trick or treat at my house?"

Doors & Pumpkins

Mommy and daddy discovered last winter that our front door wasn't very good. Mommy had to keep towels on the floor to keep the cold air out. She didn't want to do that again so we all went to Home Depot and bought a screen door. It was just installed a few days ago and I sure like it! It's been really nice the last few days so mommy's been able to open the front door to have some light come in. Now I can stand up and look out the front and watch what's going on in my neighborhood. (Not to mention that I can see when daddy comes home too which is fun.) So today I spent a lot of time looking out the front door.

Mommy also had me sit and take pictures with my pumpkin. Mommy, daddy and I each have one which we got last weekend. Although mommy says we ran out of time to carve one, I still like mine. I’ve already chewed it and tried to push my pumpkin around; I’m hoping I’ll still have it next year to play with too. Probably not though.

"Daddy when are you coming home?"

Peak-a-boo!!!

Here I am with my pumpkin and some of mommy's fall stuff. I like to touch the hay bales, but they are wrapped in plastic so I can't eat any of it.

I love my pumpkin!!

Bowl & Cups

Lately I've gotten to be a pro at opening mommy's cupboards in the kitchen. I haven't yet pulled anything out, I just like to open and close the doors about a million times in a day mommy says. But the other day I found this blue bowl that mommy had in one of the cupboards. I didn't try to take it out but I looked at it a lot and touched it. So mommy took it out and gave me some cups to play with and boy did I have fun! Mommy will tell you I sat in the kitchen and played with this bowl and cups for over an hour the other night! Cost of bowl $1.99, 4 plastic cups $.25 each, giving me an hour of total entertainment - PRICELESS!

Snow

Well.......today it snowed. It's not even Halloween yet and it's snowing. I've had fun though and have been going to our windows all day and have been watching it snow, and watching all the leaves fly by because it is so windy. Mommy says I saw plenty of snow last winter but I don't remember it. Mommy also says she once remembers going trick or treating during a blizzard and then the next day the Governor of Minnesota closed the state down because of the weather. I don't think that will happen but it's been fun to watch it snow. Daddy let me take a video of the snow so that I could share it with everyone. Mommy & daddy say we must share this video with all our Arizona friends who they are sure will be very jealous of our weather. They say that anyone is welcome to come up here to see it for themselves!!

10 Months & Sick

Yesterday was my 10 month birthday and it wasn't a fun day for me. In fact, mommy doesn't even have my normal pictures to share. I have a really bad cold so I didn't feel good all afternoon. Mommy and daddy didn't notice anything different as I wasn't fussy or anything. That is until last night when I woke up after being asleep for only an hour and then coughed so bad I threw up twice. They got me cleaned up and mommy put the humidifier in my room and put me back to bed. I did sleep but I coughed through the night. Mommy says that every time I coughed she got up to check on me so she didn't sleep much. So today mommy and I are spending a lot of time together. I wanted to be held all morning which isn't normal so mommy held me and let me watch a little bit of Sesame Street which made me feel better. Now I'm taking a long nap which I hope will help me recover. So until then.....I'm sleeping, sneezing, coughing, with a runny nose and stuffy head and trying to get better. So check back later!

Fun at School

On Wednesdays mommy and I get to go to school. Well.....it's not really school, but it's sure fun! Mommy enrolled me in a class called Gradually Separating through our school district. It's every Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:30. Mommy was worried because it's right when I would be napping but on Wednesdays mommy just puts me down for a little cat nap before class and I am good to go! For the first 30-45 minutes of class mommy is with me and we get to play, have circle time and sing songs. Then mommy leaves me with the teachers while she goes with the other mommy's and has "adult" time as mommy puts it. Today mommy brought her camera along and asked the teachers if she could take pictures. They said of course!! So here I am at school!
This is one of my favorite toys. If you push the blue part down it makes the train go in circles. I haven't figured that out yet so I just push the train with my hands.

I love playing with the balls....and I love this one cause I can hold onto it!!

I'm so good with stairs now that I can climb up and play on the jungle gym. "Mom....quit taking my picture!!"

Crawling through the tunnel to mommy.

One of the teachers took this picture of mommy and me during circle time. We're listening to "Bang, bang" and I get to bang these blocks together. I love it!!

Gotta Improvise

Well, it happened. On Friday I figured out how to climb up the stairs. Mommy followed me up the stairs as I climbed and climbed. I didn't realize there were so many and boy am I tired after all them steps!! So on Saturday mommy, daddy and I went to Target to buy a baby gate. We got home and I took a nap and daddy tried to put it on our stairs and guess what??? It doesn't fit! Daddy says our stairs are just a little to wide and the gate doesn't work no matter how he tried it. So we're going to take that gate back and go to another store to look for a different gate. In the meantime, mommy says we have to improvise and use what we have to block the steps and that means my pack-n-play. But it works, I can't get up the stairs. Now if I can just figure out how to move it out of my way I could start climbing again!

Musical Moments

I have this little Elmo piano that my Aunt Tammy gave to me. Up until recently I would swing at it and push it over to get it to play. Mommy usually had to sit and help me press the keys to get it to play. Well........mommy said all that time of helping me play the keys finally paid off!! I finally figured out how to press the keys to get the piano to play so I can dance. Mommy now says I will sit in one spot and play with this for a long time. I press the keys to start the music and then when the music is done I start all over. Maybe if this whole swimming thing doesn't work out I can have a career in music instead!

Walking Tall

Now that I've figured out that I can stand on my legs and sit, I want to do it all the time!! While I still crawl everywhere, I will immediately come to mommy and daddy when they sit on the floor to play with me and I want them to help me stand up and walk. Mommy and I take "walks" around the living room at least 30 times a day she says. She also helps me push some of my toys around which I think is lots of fun. And twice now she has let go of me and I have taken a few steps holding onto my toys!! Mommy just sighs now as she says I am becoming such a big boy who soon won't need mommy's help at all to walk and run. But I need her help now and mommy says she will be holding onto me for as long as she can. ((Well......until I've at least mastered this walking business anyway.))

MOMMY'S DISCLAIMER: Mommy says that daddy took this video and that she said several times for him to focus in on me and not mommy. Mommy wanted to take other video's but daddy refused saying she needed to be in the blog more. So mommy says to please just pretend that she is not in the video and to look only at me instead!! ((Oh, and even though I fell at the end, I didn't cry at all!!))
