Christmas Fun

WOW! I sure like Christmas! I've never seen so much paper that I can play with and make noise out of...and I hadn't even seen my presents yet! Very early tomorrow morning mommy, daddy and I are leaving to drive to South Dakota so I can spend Christmas with my other grandma and grandpa, but before we left I wanted to share some pictures of my Christmas day. Since I'll be gone all this week I guess I can say we'll be back next year!!

This was the best bow to play with. I didn't want to give it up.
Can you see my sister Rose under there? She loves to hid under all the paper.
My Aunt Tammy and Uncle Brad gave me this, I'm clapping my hands to the music.

My Auntie Chelle gave me these clothes, mommy says we sure need them!

My best present, grandma and papa gave me a sit and spin pony that gallops and makes all kinds of music.

"Daddy hurry up! I want to ride my pony!"

YEA!!! The finished product. It didn't take me long to figure out how to get on and off my pony. I ride it a lot!

A Better Birthday

I know it's Christmas Eve but since I had a not so fun birthday weekend and I ended up not having a birthday party, mommy left up my birthday decorations until my Auntie Chelle arrived tonight. So I got to have another little birthday party and everyone got to have some more of mommy's cupcakes while I watched. I've sure had fun opening presents and seeing my gifts and can't wait to do it again. Mommy says it's not so far off as I get to open more presents tomorrow!

I also had my one year check-up on Monday. Mommy and daddy spent a long time talking with Dr. Rosen about what happened this weekend, I got bored and wanted to crawl around but Dr. Rosen let me hold her stethoscope which was really fun for me. I weigh 22.5 pounds and am 30 1/2 inches long. I did have to get some blood taken which was not fun for me at all. I am being tested for allergies to eggs, soy and all kinds of nuts. So then mommy will know what I can eat and what I can't. And best of all is that daddy got to turn my car seat around so now I can see where we're going and watch mommy drive. I sure like that because there is so much I can see!! But now it's time for my bath and to dream while Santa comes to my house. Good night!!

This is from Grandma's good friend Lois. She and I have a special bond as we share the same birthday! She got me this real fun guitar that plays all kinds of music.

She also got me this neat space sweatshirt, I REALLY like it can you tell?

Opening Auntie Chelle's gift.....

She got me bath toys and I couldn't wait to open them. Hurry up Auntie Chelle!!

No Nuts, No Party

Well, I'm not sure where to begin with my birthday weekend as it ended up being quite an adventure, and not a fun one at that. Friday was my actual birthday and I had a lot of fun playing with mommy, daddy, grandma and papa. I got to open a few presents and the rest were going to be saved for my birthday party which was supposed to be yesterday. Mommy had worked very hard decorating all around our table and making a whole lot of cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. She had also worked hard and had made a big breakfast for everyone to eat before my party began, and this is where the fun began.

Mommy, daddy, grandma and papa were all at the table eating a french toast bake that mommy had made. Since I'm still not keen on this whole table food thing, and had already had my breakfast, mommy just let me taste some of the bread and so she gave me two very tiny, tiny little bites. Almost immediately I started to get fussy and seemed to be tired and rubbing my eyes a lot. Grandma held me for a few minutes and when that didn't work mommy walked around with me and eventually let me watch my favorite TV show, Blues Clues. That helped as I was clapping along with the music but I still didn't feel well. A few more minutes had passed and I was still rubbing my eyes a lot when mommy noticed my hand was red, swollen and I had hives all over it. She yelled for daddy and grandma and put me on the floor and that's when she realized I was red, swollen and had hives all over my face and eyes. Grandma said I was having an allergic reaction and needed to go to the doctor. So into the car I went and mommy drove daddy and me to the doctor during a snowstorm.

Once there mommy got me to a room and a doctor and some nurses came in and started poking me and asking a lot of questions. I ended up having to get a shot and all kinds of medicines but they worked because soon I was starting to look like myself and feel better. The doctor wanted me to stay for a while so they could monitor me so mommy, daddy and I spent two hours at the clinic walking around. Daddy brought my stroller in and I got to push it all around and flirt with a lot of nurses who said I was really cute. After two hours the doctor said I could go home, which was good because I was getting hungry! Daddy went out to start mommy's car and guess what....it was dead. So mommy called papa and said to come get us and daddy called a tow truck place to have them tow the car. Papa came and got us and took us home and then he and daddy went back to wait for the tow truck. Daddy said mommy's battery was dead because in the confusion of getting me to the doctor, mommy had turned on her headlights while driving and daddy parked the car and he didn't turn them off.

So now mommy's car is fixed, we all came home yesterday and were very tired. I took a nap and then woke up and had a bubble bath and then finally got to open some presents. I didn't end up having a birthday party but I got to listen as everyone sang happy birthday to me and look at the pretty cupcakes mommy still decorated.

So what did I react too? It is now believed that I have an allergy to nuts. The french toast bake that mommy made has a topping on it that has nuts in it. While I did not eat any of the nut part, just bread, daddy said while baking the oils from the nuts must get down into the bread and that’s how I got sick. I get to go back to the doctor tomorrow for my one year checkup and mommy and daddy get to talk with my doctor about what happened and that I might have to be tested for more food allergies. So not a fun way for me to spend my birthday but I sure appreciate everyone who has called and thank everyone who was going to come to my party. Mommy says we’ll plan another one next year and she hopes we won’t have these problems again!

Getting to open some presents on Friday. That's a bath toy my Aunt Tammy and Uncle Brad gave me, I've already played with it!

Eyeing the rest of the presents I opened last night.

"OH!! I think I'm going to love this book!!"

Mommy & daddy got me this new hat with matching gloves.

Daddy holding me just before they sang Happy Birthday.

Mommy said there are a lot more cupcakes in the freezer, but she made sure to decorate some.

What a day!! Daddy and I are ready for bed.

One Year

I made it!! Today is my birthday and I am officially one year old. I'm not sure what all the excitement is yet but mommy has been singing this "Happy Birthday" song to me all morning and she's been hanging up some decorations for some kind of party that's going on tomorrow. One year ago mommy and daddy were in the hospital with me nervously trying to figure this parenting thing all out. Now I'm walking ((almost)), talking, crawling, and getting into everything. But what a year!! Tomorrow is my birthday party and soon Christmas and then the fun will really begin so stay tuned!!

My posed picture taken this morning when I woke up.

Three seconds later I'm out the door and ready to play, clothes or no clothes.

Fort Nolan

My grandma and papa moved up here from Arizona about a month ago. I haven't been to see their house yet with all their furniture in it, but they've come to see me a few times. Mommy had them bring a bunch of their boxes to my house so she could give them to a friend of hers who is moving. Since I like to play with boxes, and anything not my toys, mommy took one of the boxes and made it into a fort for me! I have a door and two windows and I keep a blanket, books and Lizzy my lizard in there. I've sure had fun pushing it around and playing fort!

See my toys in there? That's my FAVORITE book ever called "Babies" which mommy has to read to me about 500 times a day.

I can see you through my window!!

Pushing my fort around, I'm trying to position it so mommy and daddy can't see what I'm doing in there. I mean come on! Can't a guy have any privacy?

O Christmas Tree

Over Thanksgiving weekend mommy and Aunty Chelle decided to put up our Christmas tree. It's a big tree with lots of decorations and mommy says she always likes help putting it up. So while Aunty Chelle took pictures with her camera, I of course was more than willing to help mommy put up the tree. Aunty Chelle had to email mommy these pictures and she had bugs on her computer too so it took mommy a while to get them. So now we have them and I can show you our tree! Mommy is very proud to say that I have hardly shown any interest in it and have not pulled off one ornament. Mommy says it's because I know to "just look" and "not touch." Not really, I just have better things to do!!

"Okay mommy, make sure to get it tight, I don't want this thing to fall on me."

"Are you sure these lights are the right ones?"

"Now just move that strand over there to cover that gap."

The finished product!! ((And yes, mommy and Aunty Chelle put all baby safe ornaments on the bottom just in case I did decide to play with them.))

Daddy's Office Party

I had a busy weekend of parties, haircuts, walks, and saying goodbye to daddy. He had to go to Seattle for the week and mommy and I sure to miss him! So with everything going on mommy says she forgot to have me write about going to daddy's work for their holiday party! It was last Friday night and I sure had fun. They had a lot of food and drinks ((not that I could try any of them)), and people for me to show off for. I had fun playing at daddy's desk, meeting all of his co-workers and pushing my stroller around. I can't wait until I can go back again!!

Daddy dropped his badge and I'm picking it up for him. It's one of my FAVORITE things to chew on.

This is daddy's chair where he sits all day, I have to check it out and see if it's comfortable.

"Hmmmm....I wonder how I can get to that bottle?"

I couldn't bring my walker with me to push around, but that didn't stop me cause I can just push my stroller!!

First Haircut & Walk

Yesterday mommy and daddy took me to get my first haircut and let me just say, I didn't like it. In fact.....that would be an understatement. Mommy said she thought I would be just fine, but I sure proved her wrong! The lady that cut my hair was very nice and mommy said she has no idea how she was actually able to cut my hair with my screaming and crying. But, in less than 10 minutes it was over and now my hair isn't standing all on end anymore. Mommy says it will be a long time before we do another haircut.

Here's the before....yea, can you tell I needed a haircut?

Just getting started, you can tell that the breakdown is only minutes away.

Full screaming & crying.....mommy is sure that stores across town heard me.

And after, how happy & handsome I look!!

And guess what!!!!!! Today I took my first steps all on my own!! Daddy has to go out of town for a few days and mommy and I were helping him pack. I like to play in mommy and daddy's bathroom and daddy was in there when I started walking from their counter to their tub. Mommy grabbed the camera and took this video. It's not long but you can sure see my steps!!!

Say Cheese!

Mommy decided that it was time to have my first professional pictures taken. So a few weeks ago mommy, daddy and I went to a park and had pictures taken. It was a little cold but mommy dressed me really warm and I did really well. Mommy has been anxiously waiting to get the pictures back and she finally got them today! There were a lot of pictures taken so these are just a few that I wanted to share! I think Baby Gap might be calling soon!!

Turkey Weekend

Since I'm a little behind on my posts I have to start with last week and talk about my Turkey weekend. I wasn't sure what Thanksgiving was all about, I just knew mommy spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and a lot of other food. My Aunty Chelle, grandma & papa from Arizona, and cousins all came over to my house. ((My grandma and papa are now all moved here from Arizona, they had just arrived a few days before Thanksgiving!!)) I got to play and show off my toys and how well I can walk. But all this waiting around for turkey sure made me tired and five minutes into dinner, I had had enough and mommy put me down for a nap. I did get to try some mashed potatoes though and they were sure good! After dinner I woke up and everyone else was tired after eating, but they still played with me. Mommy says that maybe by next Thanksgiving I will have enough teeth ((and be awake)) to actually try some turkey!

Here I am with everyone after dinner, see how tired they look and I'm so awake!!

Turkey cookies that papa and my cousins made, they look pretty good!!

The day after Thanksgiving I'm outside helping papa and daddy hang Christmas lights.

Sitting with grandma on the couch.

Hangin' with my Aunty Chelle, she's so fun!!
