Coloring by Nolan

Mommy let me color today for the first time and although I tried to eat one crayon and broke one, I did pretty well!! Mommy helped me get started as I wasn't sure what to do with the crayons when she put them in my hands. But once I got the hang of it, it was sure fun! Mommy says this was our tribute to Vincent Van Gogh, who if you know my mommy is her favorite artist, as today was his birthday. While I don't think I'm as good as he is I guess if this swimming thing doesn't work out, and I'm sure I won't be a dancer if you've seen my videos, maybe I’ll be an artist instead!!

Trying to choose which crayon to use, there's just so many.

I guess when all else fails, just pick up as many as you can.
Maybe I can color on these cartoons? They look really interesting....

All that work sure makes you thirsty! How did Van Gogh paint such big pictures and not get tired?

And the final works of art. The top one I did myself and the bottom one mommy helped me with.

Dancing in the Kitchen

Mommy says we've reached the pinnacle of winter blues. It was so nice outside for a few days that I got to out and see all our neighbors. Now I'm stuck back inside as it's too cold to go out. So today, to try and cheer us both up since it's cold out again, mommy decided to turn on her MP3 player and listen to music with me. I like all kinds of music, but I especially like what mommy and daddy listen too. So today it was Enrique Iglesias ((mommy wants to point out that this song was on the radio and not her MP3 player)) and Van Halen. If dancing keeps the winter blues away mommy and I can do this everyday!!

Please note that no one was hurt during the making of this video......mainly that means me.

I just can't seem to get the arm movements right....

Haircut & Sunshine

This weekend was the first weekend in a while that we just got to stay home and I was looking forward to it. Well, that is until I heard the magic words of "Nolan needs a haircut." I got a little nervous and was hoping it might be forgot about, but I was wrong. So Saturday afternoon mommy & daddy put me in the car and off we went for my 2nd haircut. Mommy was hoping this one might go better than the first one but boy was she wrong. There was just as much screaming, kicking and crying this time as the first time. Again, mommy doesn't know how the lady managed to cut my hair but she did. So after that we went home and because it was soooooo warm outside I got to play outside and visit with our neighbors who were also enjoying the weather. I was outside for over an hour playing with my ball and watching the kids play so I guess it made up for my haircut. Now unfortunately it's been raining out the last day so I can't play outside, but I still stand at the front door looking to see when the sun will be out again. Summer, your almost here!!!

How cute am I? I don't really need a haircut.

Well.....maybe I do, and this is in my hourse where there is no wind!!

The look of terror as the haircut begins.

And afterwords, so happy to be out with daddy. I think I have to grow a lot to catch him.

Playing catch in the driveway!

Small Steps

It's been five long days but I think I'm finally starting to feel better. Mommy says we've both been napping a lot, taking medicine and not doing much of anything in hopes we can start to feel better soon. I had my 15 month check up yesterday and Dr. Rosen says I look much better. I am now 25.1 pounds and am 32 3/4 inches long. She says after today mommy and daddy don't have to give me any more medicine which I am very glad for because it sure tastes yukky! So here's to starting to feel better and to not have any more colds until next winter!

"Um daddy? I know I need to stay warm but I think these slippers might be a little too big for me."

Well I can at least stand in them although I don't think I will even try to walk.

After days of not wanting to even crawl up the stairs because I was so tired, I finally had enough energy to play on them and I figured out how to go up and down!

Way under the weather....

Being sick stinks, especially when it's now starting to get so nice outside. But that's what I am, sick. And not just me, daddy's getting over being sick and both mommy and I are sick. Mommy spent two hours with me today at Urgent Care which she says was a nightmare. I can't help it if I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried. I had to get an x-ray in what mommy said looked like an 1800's torture devise, a nebulizer treatment, and they never did get my oxygen count even with three nurses and mommy trying to hold me down. So instead mommy and daddy have two types of medicine to give me and they are hoping one will help me to quit coughing which is the worst part of everything now. I can't stop coughing day or night, which made for a VERY long night last night. So mommy says that once again, I need to take a break and try to get better. We all need to get more than two hours of sleep and I am hoping I can go more then four minutes without coughing. So check back later when I can hopefully say I'm enjoying the weather instead of being under it.

South Dakota

On Wednesday after having to stay an extra day because of weather, mommy, daddy and I made it home from our trip to South Dakota. Mommy says I did so well in the car and that on the way home she didn't have to sit in the back with me once!! I got to see my good friend Beckett and of course spend a lot of time with my grandma and grandpa. It's so much fun to play at their house because there is so much stuff for me to do!! But I admit, I was ready to come home and see my kitty Rose and sleep in my own bed. It was still a good trip and I sure had fun!

We left very early in the morning so you need a lot of caffeine to stay awake.

YEA!! How happy am I to be at Beckett's house and out of the car!

YEA.....do you think I needed a haircut before we left???

"Okay Nolan, so you can rub this on your head and it will help keep your hair from standing up."

Daddy is still recovering from driving.

Grandma and I in a serious discussion.

So much stuff to play with I don't even know where to begin.

"Okay grandma, I do this at home all the time. So you close this, put the soap in there and then press the button and it will magically wash all of these dishes. It's the best thing ever."

Catch grandpa!!!

Mommy was told she might get in trouble for this one but she couldn't resist. Grandma and me dancing away.

This & That

Mommy, daddy and me have had a busy few days. We're actually getting ready to take a trip to South Dakota tomorrow so I can have a visit with my grandma and grandpa and maybe see my friend Beckett! Mommy and I have been busy getting things ready. But I've still found time to play and have fun! We'll see you all next week!!

On Wednesday my friend Maddy came over. Her mommy and daddy were doing some work on our computer. We sure had a lot of fun playing together!

This is my puppy I got for Valentine's Day, Maddy sure liked it a lot!! Maybe she thought it was a sucker or something?

Mommy says if this doesn't show that I belong to her, nothing will.

Obviously I'm REALLY excited for bath night.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my Auntie Chelle's birthday. I can't be with her on her birthday so this is the best I can do. Mommy will see her next weekend and will give her big birthday hugs for me. But in the meantime, Happy Birthday Auntie Chelle!! I miss you and love you lots!!

Hats

I'm not much of a hat guy, or dress up guy, but that doesn't stop mommy from wanting to try things on me. A while ago mommy said we used to play dress up all the time so I could wear all the outfits people got for me. Recently mommy started trying hats on me. She has to take the picture really quickly as I take the hat off faster than you can blink. But, it didn't stop mommy from getting a few pictures!

This is mommy's hat and scarf she wears. I think mine fit a lot better.

Of course, daddy's Minnesota Vikings hat. Only 5 months until preseason!!

Mommy says this one is special as it's the hat I got from the hospital when I was born. But I don't think it fits me anymore!

This is one of my summer swimming hats. I don't think I'm a big fan of it.

Mommy's favorite hat. This is her Alaska hat from the cruise she and daddy went on. She says the boat they were on is a lot bigger than the one in my bathtub.
