Last Days of Summer

On Friday mommy and I went for our usual afternoon walk and since it was so warm and nice outside, we stopped at a park to play for a while. Mommy says we needed to take advantage of what is probably the last time I can wear shorts for the year! I got to swing on a baby swing and then play in the grass all while mommy took pictures. I sure like to be outside where I can see everything but now it's a little cooler out when I go out so I guess I have to take all the sun I can get!

Milestones

This week has been very busy for me! On Monday I had my nine month checkup which went really well. I didn't have to get any shots this time, but Dr. Rosen says mommy and I have to come back next month so I can get my flu shot, I don't think I will like that. But Dr. Rosen says I'm developing and growing and that everything looks very, very good. I am now 30 1/2 inches long and weigh 22.5 pounds so I'm right on track! Mommy is also VERY happy to say that I finally got my first tooth!! Mommy was beginning to think I would start preschool and still not have any teeth, but I have teeth now!! Mommy discovered my tooth poking through this last weekend and then the very next day.....mommy found I have a second tooth coming in! Grandma says that mommy used to cut what seemed like three of four teeth a day, so mommy thinks I may do the same thing. But now I have a "perma-snot" runny nose as mommy calls it and a cough which she is sure is because my teeth have finally decided to make an appearance. So lots of Kleenex for me!! And lastly, I've now started standing and pulling myself up in my crib. I actually stood for the first time when my grandma & grandpa were here from South Dakota about two weeks ago. Grandma came upstairs to help mommy put me to bed and when mommy put me in my crib to get my jammies out, up on my feet I went!! Now when mommy sits on the floor with me I crawl up to her all the time and she helps me stand. I've even started taking a few steps with mommy holding my hands and also with me pushing some of my toys around. Mommy says she will try to get a video of that on here soon. So I've had some big milestones for me and it just wears a little guy out. I'm fast asleep as mommy writes this for me. Sweet dreams!!

Renaissance Festival

On Saturday mommy and daddy took me to the Renaissance Festival which is very close to our house. Mommy and daddy have been going to them for many, many years. Except for last year they didn't go because mommy was pregnant with me and she said it was too hot to go. So she wasn't going to miss a chance to go this year. So we got all packed and went for the afternoon. I got to see all kinds of dogs, jokers, kings, queens and a beautiful fairy. Mommy and daddy had their lunch and I had mine. I even got a bag full of wooden trucks to play with and a small wooden blade which I carry around in my hand when I crawl. But soon it was time to go as mommy was getting hot and there was getting to be a lot of people at the festival. So we made our way back to the car. We get to the car and daddy loaded me in and mommy unloaded our stroller and had tossed a pop bottle in the backseat. She got in the front and daddy got in to drive us home when he asked where the pop bottle was. He got out and grabbed it and then got back in the car and opened it. Now this is where mommy says, "do you know what happens when you open a pop bottle that has been tossed around?" Well, daddy opened it and it EXPLODED inside mommy's car. Daddy will tell you that most of it got on him, which is partially true. However, a majority of it got all over mommy's car. To say mommy was not happy is an understatement. So daddy drove us home and took a shower while mommy changed me and I played in the living room. Then mommy had to go back outside and clean the inside of her car when she said all she wanted to do was rest and play with me inside. So she wasn't very happy that afternoon but she says she's fine now and her car is all clean. And despite that, we had a very fun day and I'm looking forward to going back next year!

9 Months & Grandma & Grandpa Visit

Mommy says we are doing two posts in one because we got busy this week and forgot to post pictures from last weekend!! So the first one is my nine month pictures, and I am nine months today! I get to go to the doctor on Monday to see how big I am. My friend Beckett just went in for his nine month appointment so we'll see if I am as big as he is. Mommy tried taking pictures of me this morning on the floor like she usually does, but I wanted nothing to do with that so she had to improvise a little. So here's some of my best ones of this morning.

And mommy says she's so sorry because we got to be busy this week with classes and visiting my other grandpa that we didn't make a post about my grandma & grandpa from South Dakota visiting! They came up last weekend to see my cousins Joseph & Ellie play soccer. They stayed with them for two nights and then they came to my house and stayed with me for a night. ((And grandma had one of her wishes come true, she got to go to the Vikings game last Sunday with my Uncle Tim. She's always wanted to go to one and she finally got too. She said it didn't matter that they lost, although they shouldn't have, but she was there to watch which was the best thing ever she said.)) I sure had fun playing with them and grandma had a lot of fun watching me crawl all over. So below are some pictures of me playing with them. I miss you grandma & grandpa!

Last week after I had my dinner I was still hungry. Mommy didn't give me more food because I had already eaten what I was supposed to have, so I had to get creative and I decided I would try my foot instead. Mommy had just bought these little shoe/slippers and I knew they would taste different than my socks so I tried them out. Not a bad taste, but it's an acquired one.

Cleaning Mommy's Windows

Last night daddy had to work late so mommy and I spent all day playing & cleaning. Mommy worked hard yesterday and even with watching me, she managed to sweep and mop the wood floors which she says is a big job. So last night I wanted to help mommy clean and I thought I would clean the windows! Well, just one window actually. The sliding glass door that I like to look out all day had some dirty spots on it, so I just put my mouth right up to it and starting going to work! Mommy laughed as now she knows that window will never really be clean again. Knowing my mommy though, she will try to keep it clean. But I'm sure I'll make it dirty again!

This & That

Since mommy and I have been busy lately she hasn't had time to update my blog as much as she's wanted too. She says she's been taking tons of pictures but at the end of the day forgets to post them!! So here's a little bit of this and that from the last few weeks that I wanted to share!

Here's me playing in my room with my books. I have quite a lot and I like to pull them off the shelves and play with them. ((Mommy will tell you I like to look at the covers and then put the book in my mouth!))

Here I am not long ago playing with my papa. I wanted to play with him but I was so tired that I just needed to rest my head on my truck.

My new favorite toy....my highchair. It's on wheels and I push it all over the kitchen.

Busy, Busy!!

Mommy says we've been bad this week about posting things on my blog, but I'm so busy!! My papa and grandma from Arizona have been here this week. They closed on their new house last week and then they spent the week painting and having some furniture delivered. Grandma had to fly back to Arizona today, but my papa is staying up here for at least another month while work is done on their new house! I got to spend the weekend with them which was very fun for me. This past Friday I also got to play with my new baby playgroup for the first time! Mommy joined MOMS Club soon after I was born so she could meet other mommy's and have "adult" talk as she puts it. She says after months of not having one, they finally have enough babies to have a baby play group! So I got to go to Amber's house and play with my friends Gavin, Koen, Grame, Reana and Jennifer. I had a lot of fun. And on top of all that, I'm crawling all over the house, following mommy into the kitchen, chasing Rose, and playing my favorite new game of chasing my soccer and basketballs all over. What can I say? I'm a guy on the go!!

A Poem for my Rose

Every day I'm crawling and I get to explore new things.

That includes my sister Rose, and of course, all of her things.

Rose follows mommy, wherever she goes, so I follow Rose not to be alone.

She doesn't understand why I'm chasing her, she'll yell at me not to bother her.

But I love my Rose and just want to play with her!

Mommy says Rose needs to adjust now that I can crawl, and soon she might play with me, but maybe not until next fall.

So for now I'll watch and chase her around the house.

Maybe someday I'll get to play with my Rose....I guess I should be as quiet as a mouse!
