Laughter at Dinner

Last night at dinner mommy was feeding me and I reached my hand out and grabbed onto the bowl my food was in. I almost made mommy drop the whole bowl onto my tray but she grabbed it just in time. I thought it was the funnest thing I had ever seen!! Mommy then ran and got our camera and took this video. She is pretending to drop my bowl onto my tray and I can't stop laughing! In fact, I laughed so much that I gave myself the hiccups, which happens a lot when I laugh. Daddy made fun of mommy and I and said we were laughing more than we were eating. Don't worry though, I made sure to finish all of my dinner, but I was sure tired after all this giggling!!

River City Days

Mommy, daddy and I went downtown today to check out the Chaska River City Days. It was very nice outside and we all had a good time! Mommy said it was nice because it's about a five minute drive from our house and we got to park about 2 blocks from the park where it was held. I had a lot of fun watching everything and everyone and when I got tired I took a nap. Mommy and daddy didn't buy anything, but they did register to vote, which mommy says is very important, and they had some good food for lunch. When we left we stopped to watch the firemen in a water battle with another fire department. We sat under a tree and I got to play in the grass for a while. But we were all ready to come home and I took a long nap this afternoon. All this people watching sure makes me tired!!

Playing with Rose

So I've mentioned before that I have a big sister named Rose. I used to not see her much but now she comes around more and more. I think she's looking for attention from mommy cause she doesn't ever want to play with me! Lately though I've gotten to play outside with her and mommy let's me pet her sometimes. Here are some pictures of us playing.

Practicing With My Sippy Cup

Mommy bought me a sippy cup a while back so I could start practicing how to use it. It had handles on it so it was easy for me to hold onto, but all I did was chew on it! So mommy recently went to the store and found some other ones for me to try and I've been using them a lot lately. I'm still not good at picking it up myself so mommy has to give it to me, but once I get it in my hands I sure know what to do! Mommy has just put water in it so far and I really wasn't sure I liked water at first, but it's okay now. I especially like it when mommy and I go on our afternoon walks because it can get hot out, I think I'm getting the hang of this cup thing!!

7 Months

Today I am seven months old! As with every other month that goes by, mommy & daddy can't believe how fast time has gone and how big I am. According to the measuring tape I am about 30 inches long. I was moving around a lot last night so it took mommy and daddy a while to get me to lay still and take the pictures, so I may even be a tiny bit longer. I'm growing fast and now really enjoy eating sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, applesauce and pears. Mommy tried giving me peas and I gagged the whole time I was eating them. Mommy was laughing at me but she says we won't have to eat those again for a while. Speaking of eating....it's time for my lunch! No special treats for the birthday boy, just cereal and applesauce for me today. Yummy!!

My papa in Arizona won this big bear playing Bingo and he had it sent to me! I'm almost as big as he is!

Hold Tight To Your Friends

Mommy put me down for a nap yesterday and I fell off to sleep with no problems. When she checked on me she found me holding tight to my best friend, penguin. My Aunty Chelle had her very good friend Tucker make me this penguin and it's in my crib every night with me now. We share secrets, drool and he even let's me chew on his arm if I want. Mommy says that's what friends are for. To share secrets, cry with and get mad if you need too. But I know he'll always be there for me, waiting in my crib, my best friend penguin.

Learning & Laughing

Mommy & daddy recently bought me my very own Baby Einstein DVD. Mommy says that while I get to watch the news with her during the day sometimes, that she tries to limit how much it is on. But she and daddy thought this would be fun for me to watch and learn. It all started when we were at grandma & grandpa's for the 4th of July and grandma had me watch cartoons. I was really into watching them and talking along. So last night mommy put the DVD in and I watched it. It's all about the sounds that I can make so to me it made perfect sense! Now all day today mommy has been talking to me and making the sounds from the movie. Sometimes I think she's weird, but it's fun talking with her!!

Now here's the laughing part. Yesterday I was upstairs with mommy and she put me on her bed so I could see everything. Mommy was putting some towels away in their bathroom and I was watching her. All of a sudden mommy ran right towards me shaking her hands and I thought it was hilarious!! Mommy did it over and over again and I laughed and laughed. Today mommy put me back on her bed and video taped me laughing while she is running at me. You can see the video shake a bit, mommy says to ignore that, but I sure thought she was funny!

Splash Pool

Shortly after I was born mommy joined a MOMS club so that she could meet other stay at home moms in our area. It's hard for us to sometimes go to the activities because I am either too young or they start the activity right when I have my breakfast. And nothing interferes with my breakfast!! But today mommy made sure that we went to this one. We went up to our local community center and played in the splash pool. It's a large area outside with a baby pool under a covered canopy on one side, and on the other side there's a water jungle gym with water splashing and coming out of everything! Mommy lathered me up with sunscreen and we sat in the baby pool. I mostly watched everyone around me and mommy chatted with other mommy's. I had fun playing in the water but it wore me out and I let mommy know that it was time to go. But not before she handed me off to another mom to watch me so my mommy could get pictures. I think our camera is glued to mommy's hand!!

Splish-Splash

Mommy bought me a baby pool so I could splash around outside in the water. I got to try it out yesterday and I had a lot of fun! It was a little windier than mommy thought but it was still nice enough to play outside. I was fascinated by all the colors on my pool and had a lot of fun splashing. I fell backwards once which I didn't like, but mommy picked me up, wiped me off and I was ready to play more. I didn't swim too long, but I'm ready for more! Mommy said it's supposed to be really hot tomorrow so I might get to swim then. Swimming lesson's are just around the corner for me!

My 4th of July Trip

Mommy, daddy and I got back yesterday from our 4th of July weekend at grandma & grandpa's. It was quite eventful and I had a lot of fun! This was also my first real long car ride and although I wanted to get out and roll around like I do all day long, I did really well! I had a lot of fun playing with my cousins, sitting outside, playing with all of grandma's stuff and getting to visit people. I didn't get to see fireworks because I was already in bed, but I heard them! I will admit, I was glad to come home and sleep in my own bed. I went to bed very early last night because I was crabby and I had a good long sleep. We did have a scary moment on Sunday though. Mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa & my cousin Nikki and I, all had to go down into the basement because a tornado was close to grandma's house. I was a little confused and it was raining and really noisy outside mommy said. But we stayed down there and thankfully we were able to go upstairs just in time for me to have my dinner! But I had a fun weekend and I miss grandma and grandpa already. Can't wait to go back!

This is my great-grandma. I got to go and visit her at her house. This was the first time she had seen me and she was very excited and happy to have me come visit her!

This is my Great-Aunt Mickey and one of her dogs. She held me so I could pet her. I wasn't sure at first if I liked dogs; I had never seen one before. But they were pretty nice and one even licked my face!

Packing

Today mommy and I have been very busy. We are getting ready to drive to South Dakota to see my grandma and grandpa for the 4th of July. Mommy and I went to Target, washed clothes, cleaned and now I'm helping mommy pack!! This is the first time I've gone overnight somewhere and there is sure a lot of stuff to bring! This suitcase is already full but I had to check it out before we put anything in it. Mommy says we're bringing all my favorite toys so I should have lots to play with and I get to see my friend Beckett tomorrow! Mommy says we're not sure if we'll be able to post anything so if not she says we'll make sure to let everyone know about our weekend when we get back. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!!

Rolling No Where......Fast

I haven't quite figured out how to crawl yet, but I'm working at it! But I'm very busy during the day and have lots of places to explore and since I can't crawl yet, I roll to get where I'm going! Mommy took a bunch of video's of me rolling across the living room floor. She's not sure if I'm rolling to watch TV better, rolling to play with my floor toys, or if I'm trying to get into my sister Rose's house. But I have fun doing it and mommy says I do this all day!

Pay attention to who is right by me when I start to roll! You can tell from my scream at the beginning that I am very excited! First I roll, then you can see Rose does. ((Mommy didn't know Rose was going to do that or she would have focused better on the both of us.))
