Yard Work - Part II

Yesterday grandma and papa came over to help mommy and daddy with the second step in our summer of projects. Grandpa had his big yellow truck here and he and daddy went and got lots and lots of dirt to fill in where daddy had laid all the bricks around our house. Now mommy says we can go get the rest of our plants, rocks and mulch and then we'll be done!

The front brick work.

I need to go make sure papa and daddy are doing a good job.

"Here daddy, I'll get the rest of the dirt out for you."

"Here's a weed papa, you can put it in the bucket."

Taking some time to play in the new dirt. It was sure fun and mommy says I sure got dirty!

Splash Pad

This afternoon mommy took me to the splash pad at our community center. I went a couple of times last year but I know I didn't have as much fun as I did today. Mommy said it was the perfect temperature out and we went at the perfect time as there weren't many people there. All I know is that I can't wait to go back and splash in the water again!

Testing the water to make sure it was warm enough.

Playing with the water jets.

My favorite thing was to go down this slide, it had bears on it.

Just splashing in the water!

All that playing in the water wears you out, I need to sit and have a snack.

Full of Laugh's

Tonight when mommy went out to water her plants I was at a window watching her. Needless to say I laughed until I couldn't any more when mommy sprayed the hose at the window and water went all over. I thought it was the funniest thing ever and daddy got the camera out to video me. Yea.....my tummy hurt after all this laughing and I needed my Nebulizer to help my cough, but it was sure funny!!

Coolin' off in my Pool

It's hot.....too hot for me to play outside mommy says. But today I got to play out in my pool. Mommy spent 45 minutes blowing it up and I was very excited to start playing in it right away. I might have even wanted to take my nap in it but mommy said no. So after lunch I finally got to go swim and it was sure fun! It was hot but I was cool in my pool!

I couldn't wait for mommy to finish blowing up my pool, I had to play in it right away.

Please can't I take my nap in here??

Ahhh....finally getting to play outside

Have fun and stay cool!!

Mr. Clean

Today mommy and I spent the morning cleaning because we have company coming this weekend and we needed to start getting things ready. Mommy handled all the hard stuff like doing laundry and putting clean sheets on the guest bed, so I took the easy stuff like dusting and sweeping the floor. Mommy says I'm sure a good helper and that it's quite obvious I don't get this trait from daddy. We got a lot done today and mommy says she couldn't have done it without me!

Helping mommy dust some tables. ((After this picture was taken the plants found a new home because I kept dusting the dirt right onto the floor.))

Cleaning my reading and play area.

Cleaning my fire hat in case someone wants to play dress up.

I thought I would clean my car too. Maybe someone might need to take it to the store or something?

Getting the broom out to try and clean up some of the dirt I dusted onto the floor.

Summer School

Today was my first day of summer school. Mommy says she could hardly wait for us to start because our weeks seem so long without it! So today we went back and I very quickly remembered all my teachers and where all my favorite toys were hidden. Now I'm in an older class so we get to have snack time, play with play dough and make art. I wasn't interested in the art projects, I just wanted to run and play. I'm so happy to be back!!

Immediately I found my favorite set of key rings to play with.

But....I could put them down to play with these blocks.

I finally figured out how to slide down the slide without any help.

Crawling through the tunnel, I love school!

Sprinkler Fun.....Or Not

Yesterday it was really nice outside and mommy thought I would enjoy putting my swim shorts on and playing in the sprinkler. Our neighbors had a slip and slide out so she says she got inspired by watching them play. So I got dressed, sunscreen on, hat on and everything else. While I enjoyed walking around I did not enjoy the sprinkler so that didn't last long. I did go over to my neighbor Jodi's house and she let me play on the slip and slide a little, but I just wanted to walk. Mommy says she will invest in a plastic pool that I can splash in instead.

Wearing my swim shorts for the first time!

Holding my football and watching the kids play on the slip and slide, and no making fun of my outfit.

Checking out the sprinkler, this didn't last long

And the breakdown......

South Dakota

I've been really busy the last few days and so I have good reason as to why my blog has been updated. I haven't been home!! Last Wednesday afternoon mommy, daddy and I loaded our rental car and headed for grandma and grandpa's in South Dakota. Daddy had to do some work out there and had to go anyway and mommy was going to have a reunion with some college friends so off we went. I did pretty well in the car considering I'm not one for long trips. But this time mommy brought our little DVD player along and I got to watch a few cartoons on the way down and back so that was fun. I got used to grandma and grandpa right away and loved playing with all grandma's stuff. On Saturday mommy and I went to Sioux Falls and I got to play with my friends Beckett, Sam and Matilda while mommy visited with her friends. I sure had fun but it's always nice to come home. Mommy says I must have worn myself out as I went to bed early last night and didn't make a sound and I took a REALLY long nap today. So while I get caught up on some much needed sleep, here's what I did this weekend!

My Aunt Tammy sent this toy back for me. It plays music and shoots balls out of the hole, but maybe I can get this phone to shoot out instead?

I had to bring my mower in case grandma needed her lawn mowed. And no, those aren't real geese.

Grandpa actually moved the day after we arrived so instead I decided to mow the carpet on grandma's ramp in the garage.

Giving kisses to grandma's bear

Playing at Beckett's house, I sure liked his John Deer Tracker

Sam was real fun to play with too. He's showing me how to make food in this blender.

Score!!! Daddy says we must get a basketball hoop to have at my house.

My cousin Tori is so funny and makes me laugh!!!

In and Out

Over the weekend I became very fascinated with our sliding glass doors. I'm not sure why I like them so much, but I do. I love to take my books and sit in front of them and read. Mommy says maybe I like the natural light to help me see the pictures better. In any case, I played with the doors for quite a while on Friday night going in and out, in and out. Mommy says the doors got a good workout and I did too!!
