Exploring my house

Now that I'm crawling I am always on the move and mommy says the days of being able to get things done are over!! ((Now she says she has to hurry and try to get as much done when I'm napping.)) I've been crawling for a few days now and I have found a lot of things in my house I didn't even know were there! I have a big house so there is lots for me to see and play with. Mommy followed me this morning as I crawled around and discovered new things.

These are blinds that I already LOVE to play with. They bend and twist and I can put them in my mouth, and look at how many there are!!!

Here I am looking out the window. Now I can watch trucks go by which is fun for me to do.

Here's my Jumperoo....now I can crawl underneath it! ((See that white thing on the floor. Mommy calls it a vent. I sure like to rub my fingers on it!!))

Here I am crawling onto our hardwood floors. I like to hit the floor with my hand cause I can make a lot of noise. But sometimes my legs slip on the floor cause I can't get my grip and I want to get somewhere fast.

And finally I'm playing in mommy & daddy's bathroom. Do you know this is called a door and I can open and shut it? It takes no effort at all to move this thing! How much fun am I going to have!

I'm back.......and crawling!!

We'll, mommy ended up getting sick with all the colds that are going around my house. So she wasn't very happy. She said she hopes this is the one, and last, cold of the year she gets because she didn't feel good! I hope it's the last one too, I'm over this runny nose & coughing business and have better things I can be doing. Like crawling!!! I started crawling yesterday and am doing it more and more. I actually did it for the first time and mommy wasn't even here to see it! She had to run to the store to get some medicine for herself and I decided to start crawling when she left. But daddy got it on video for mommy to watch and they've been taking video's of me crawling ever since. I'm still a little wobbly, but I get to where I'm going and it's faster than rolling! Now mommy says she really has to keep an eye out for me. So here's a video of me crawling. ((Now that I can crawl, I can follow my sister Rose...you can see her in the video's. Mommy says Rose is in trouble now!!)) I think I'm gonna get the hang of this real soon!!

Taking a break....

I am not feeling good at all. I have a cold & daddy has a cold and last night I threw up........A LOT. Mommy says we need to take a break and that means no posts for a while. Mommy is the only one in the house right now who isn't sick and she wants to keep it that way. Last night was not a good night & mommy was very worried about me and has called and spoke with several nurses who all gave very good advice. So lots of rest and Kleenex, to wipe my snotty nose, and until we all feel better, we're taking a break!! We hope to be back next week!

8 Months

Today I am 8 months old! Mommy tried taking pictures of me this morning to show how big I am getting. She couldn't find the measuring tape so she used a yard stick instead to show how tall I am. I was much more interested in playing with the yard stick than getting my picture taken, but mommy took pictures anyway. The yard stick goes up to 36 inches, I am not that tall, but it won't be too much longer and I will be! Mommy doesn't know how much I weigh as we all know she refuses to buy a scale, but she knows I am heavy! I also discovered yesterday that I can go from my stomach onto my hands and knees, I can kind of crawl backwards and then I can sit myself up on my butt! Mommy doesn't think it will be much longer until I am crawling and until I have teeth. Mommy says she is sure that is why I have been so fussy lately. All I know is she keeps putting this stuff in my mouth every time I have my diaper changed and it makes everything taste funny for a while. But that's the life of a big boy!

Okay, mommy knows everyone will laugh at this picture. She says it looks like I have a little bit of the devil in me! My eyes turned red and it looks like I'm a little possessed.

Working Outside

Yesterday my Uncle Tim came over to help daddy do some yard work. Daddy said he had wanted to start working on our deck, but instead he decided to bury our sump pump line in the ground. Daddy said he was tired of the water coming out of our pump and leaving one area of our grass wet on the side of the house. So Uncle Tim came over and he and daddy dug holes in the back yard. Mommy didn't want to see the mess so she and I ran errands. We came back and all had lunch together and then back to work! They didn't quite finish working on everything yesterday but daddy worked a long time on it. He's finishing it up today and says he'll be glad when it's done!

Also mommy thinks I might be finally close to getting some teeth!! I've been kind of crabby lately and haven't wanted to eat, I chew on everything now and I have a very runny nose and a cough. Maybe I just have a little cold, but even today daddy thought I might be getting some teeth. Mommy keeps checking but she can't feel anything yet, she says we'll keep everyone posted!

Mommy brought my pool out so I could watch them work. All I wanted to do though was try and pull the grass and put it in my mouth!

Rockin' Baby!

I've been working really hard the last week or so to try and start crawling! I roll everywhere I want to go, but I think this crawling thing will get me to where I want to go, and faster!! I've been getting up on my hands and knees for a while now, but I never knew what to do and I just ended up back on my tummy. Just recently I figured out that I can rock back and fourth on my hands and knees. Mommy has been working all week to try and get video's of me doing this. It took her a while but she finally got some. Mommy says I'll probably crawl before any of my teeth come in! I still don't have any, but I sure chew on everything. Mommy asks me everyday when my teeth are going to come. I don't know, but I'm working on it! One thing at a time mommy.....

Olympic Fever

Mommy & daddy have been talking about this big event called the Olympics a lot lately. They've been trying to tell me about them and I've even watched some events on TV. Mommy is a huge fan and she says that the every two years they are on, it's the three weeks where she never gets anything done! Mommy is such a fan that she made me my own Olympic shirt and sign. I liked the shirt, but I was more interested in playing with the sign instead of holding it. Mommy says the way I always kick my legs she is sure I will be a swimmer and be the Michael Phelps of my time. She says I will be signed up for swimming lessons as soon as possible!!

Here's my shirt with the Olympic rings! The five rings are blue, yellow, black, green & red. They represent the five major regions of the world and every national flag in the world has at least one of these colors. Whew! What a history lesson!

Cooking With Mom & My New Truck

Today daddy had a softball tournament that he had to play in. Mommy says he got up early, packed a lot of water and off he went! Mommy decided to bake some cookies for daddy since he was probably going to be sore and tired. But also because mommy bought some chocolate chips a few weeks ago and daddy has asked her every night if he can just open them and eat some! So after my nap today mommy gave me my lunch and then I got to help her bake cookies. I didn't get to try any but do they sure make the house smell good!!

But before we started cooking and before my nap, mommy and I had to run to Target to get some things. Lately I've been fascinated with this little toy car my grandma bought for me. I push it everywhere, but it's small so it's sometimes hard to hold onto. Then I moved onto my toy puppy. He's bigger and I push him everywhere. Daddy said that I'm getting to be a big boy and that I needed a truck to push around. So mommy found two and held them up for me and I got to choose one! I played with it, and nothing else, all afternoon and boy is it fun!!

Lots to Say!

Mommy and I have been busy the last few days so I haven't had time to sit down and update my blog! But mommy says we're done "running around" for a while so hopefully I can show you some good stuff. Mommy took this video of me last night, I have a lot to say and want to make sure everyone hears it!

Weekend at Auntie Chelle's

This weekend mommy, daddy and I went to Fargo to spend time with Auntie Chelle. We left on Friday and came home last night. I had a really good time and can't wait to go back!! On Saturday we all went for a driving tour of Fargo and because the weather was so nice, and I had taken a nap in the car, we went to a huge park and had a picnic. It was so much fun to be outside and not have it be hot and humid. Saturday was also a special day because it was my mommy's birthday!!! She said she got to spend her birthday with all her favorite people and that was the best present ever. On Sunday we got up, I had my breakfast, and then I went with mommy, daddy & Auntie Chelle and they had their breakfast at a restaurant. ((Mommy says that she got mad when at the restaurant they suggested twice for us to sit at a table and to put me in a booster seat. Come on people!! I can hardly sit still in a high chair so do you think a booster seat would be a good idea?? Mommy very sternly said no, that we would be waiting for a table so I could sit in a high chair. And since it's my mommy, we waited. But we didn't have to wait long and they found a table for us and I got my high chair.)) After breakfast we went back to Auntie Chelle's, I took a nap and then we left after I had lunch. I was glad to come home and sleep in my bed, but I can't wait to go back and visit Auntie Chelle again!! I miss you!!!!!

Megan & Marinus Visit

Last night mommy & daddy's very, very good friend Megan and her daughter, Marinus, came to visit. Mommy made them dinner and they got to visit with Megan while Marinus and I had a lot of fun playing. She is bigger than me but she got right down on the floor and gave me toys and played with me. And it doesn't help that she is very pretty to look at! I sure had fun playing with her and hope she can come back soon!

Today mommy and I are busy packing. We are leaving this afternoon to drive to Fargo to see my Aunty Chelle for the weekend. I am very excited because I have not been to her house before. Aunty Chelle said a lot of people are excited we're coming up and she's having a party at her house tonight to show me off!! So mommy has been doing laundry and getting things packed so we can leave right after I have my lunch. I'm going to have a busy weekend!!
